Quantum Communications was honored to be part of a historic milestone in Pakistan’s journey towards technological sovereignty at the inauguration of the National Centre for Quantum Computing (NCQC) and the National Centre for New Manufacturing (NCNM) at University of Engineering & Technology, Narowal.
This landmark initiative reflects a powerful national vision: one that brings together academia, industry, and policy leadership to position Pakistan at the forefront of the global quantum economy. The event resonated with a shared commitment to progress, innovation, and national development.
Dr. Najeeb Ullah, Member S&T, Minister of Planning, Development & Special Initiatives underscored the importance of transforming ideas into impact through the integration of academia, translational research, and industry across Technology Readiness Levels (TRL-1 to TRL-9). Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shahbaz, Director NCQC and NCNM presented an inspiring vision of building these national centers in Pakistan, anchored in cutting-edge infrastructure, human capital development, and strong academia-industry linkages to address complex national challenges.
In his keynote address, Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives, Prof. Ahsan Iqbal, highlighted the strategic importance of emerging technologies, stating, “Nations investing in quantum technologies today will lead tomorrow.” His vision for integrating quantum computing with foundational sciences reflects Pakistan’s resolve to build a knowledge-driven and innovation-led economy.
As a pioneer initiative in quantum technologies, Quantum Communications remains steadfast in its commitment to advancing research and development in quantum computing, quantum communication, and post-quantum cryptography.
